eschatological hope

What then can be left to hope for? It is one thing to reduce eschatolgoy to nothing more than "things", quite another to hope for specific "things" inaugurated by a Lord who is the firstborn of all creation (Col. 1:15), apart from whom no single thing came to be(John 1:3), and under whom all things in heaven and on earth are united(Eph 1:10) because for him all things are created (Col. 1:16) and in him all things exist (v. 17). IN confessing Christ as the goal of creation, obviously we include all this. In fact there is no stronger defense against unbalanced personalistic expectations than confession the resurrection of the body- a thing!
