Wisdom Literature

The wisdom literature of the Old Testament expresses the Israelite quest for knowledge and understanding in a world in which all relationships are confused by the human rejection of God. But it is recognized that God has never let sin totally destroy all relationships, for the world is still orderly and nature is still supportive of human life. It is also understood that only the goodness of God, as he imparts wisdom though his Word, can enable the believer to make progress in his struggle to gain wisdom and knowledge.
