Satan, Temptation

First, Satan sometimes tempts by himself without taking advantage of the world. He injects evil and blasphemous thoughts into the hearts of God’s saints.

Second, Satan often makes use of the world. He tempted our Savior by showing Him “all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them” (Matthew 4:8).

Third, Satan sometimes takes assistance from ourselves. Our own desires lure and entice us (James
1:14). Satan
tempted Judas, for example, while Judas himself worked.
